Your full-day tour starts at 8:00 AM with pickup from your hotel by a MGO Travel tour guide. Begin your journey with a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), the first museum of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world. The museum tells the story of Egyptian civilization across the ages, from prehistoric times to the modern era, highlighting the continuity and richness of Egypt’s tangible and intangible heritage. One of the museum’s most remarkable sections is the Royal Mummies Hall, where the mummies are displayed using state-of-the-art 21st-century technology that reveals their secrets beneath the wrappings and explains the ancient rituals and religious beliefs related to mummification.

Next, continue to the Citadel of Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, one of the most prominent landmarks in Islamic Cairo and an outstanding medieval fortress. Situated on the Muqattam Hills, the Citadel was strategically built to protect the city and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Cairo. During this visit, you will explore the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha, one of Egypt’s most famous mosques. Construction of the Citadel began in 1176 AD under Sultan Salah al-Din, though it was completed later during the reign of Sultan al-Kamel ibn al-Adel, who made it the official residence of Egypt’s rulers until the mid-19th century, when Khedive Ismail moved the royal residence to Abdeen Palace.

Afterward, proceed to Old Cairo, also known as Coptic Christian Cairo, one of the most spiritually significant areas in Egypt. This district is among the most important places visited by the Holy Family during their journey in Egypt. According to tradition, they sought refuge in a cave that later became the site of the Church of Abu Serga (St. Sergius). The area, including the ancient Fortress of Babylon, remains an important pilgrimage destination for Christians from around the world and is filled with an atmosphere of devotion and reverence. While there, you will visit the Church of Abu Serga, St. Barbara Church, the Hanging Church, and the historic Ben Ezra Synagogue.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in comfort
