Full Day Cairo Tour to Giza Pyramids, Memphis, Saqqara and Dahshur

Your full-day tour begins at 8:00 AM with pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a MGO Travel tour guide. Start the day with a visit to the legendary Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, among the most famous and historically significant monuments in the world. These iconic structures served as royal tombs for the kings of Egypt’s 4th Dynasty (c. 2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid was built for King Khufu, while the other two pyramids were constructed for his son Khafre and grandson Menkaure. Khufu’s pyramid is the oldest and largest of the three and remained the tallest man-made structure on Earth for nearly 3,800 years.

Next, continue to Saqqara, one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt and the main burial ground of ancient Memphis. Named after Sokar, the god of the necropolis, Saqqara is often described as an open-air museum, displaying monuments that represent the full span of ancient Egyptian history.

Afterward, visit the ancient city of Memphis, once the capital of ancient Egypt and the center of political and religious life during the Old Kingdom. Today, its ruins lie near the modern village of Mit Rahina in the Giza Governorate. The modern name is believed to originate from the ancient term meaning “Road of the Ram-Headed Sphinxes.”

Then proceed to Dahshur, part of the vast necropolis of Memphis and home to several remarkable pyramids from the Old and Middle Kingdoms. This site was chosen by King Sneferu, the first ruler of the 4th Dynasty, to build his earliest pyramids, including the famous Bent Pyramid, marking an important stage in the development of pyramid construction.
