Tour Overview: At 7:00 AM, pick-up from your hotel, Nile Cruise, or Luxor Airport by your MGO Travel guide. You will be transferred in a private air-conditioned vehicle to the West Bank of Luxor.
West Bank Highlights:
Valley of the Kings: The burial site of Egypt’s New Kingdom rulers (c. 1550–1069 BC), including members of the royal family and high-ranking officials. The valley is divided into East and West Valleys, with over sixty tombs and twenty unfinished ones.
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut: Also known as Djeser-Djeseru “the Holy of Holies,” built by Queen Hatshepsut (c.1473–1458 BC) and designed by her chief steward Senenmut. Located at Deir al-Bahari, directly across the Nile from Karnak Temple.
Colossi of Memnon: Two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing guard at the entrance to his mortuary temple.
East Bank Highlights:
Karnak Temple: One of the largest and most important religious complexes in ancient Egypt, developed over 1,000 years. Highlights include the Temple of Amun-Ra and the famous Hypostyle Hall built during Seti I’s reign.
Luxor Temple: Known as Ipet-resyt “Southern Sanctuary,” dating back to the Eighteenth Dynasty (c.1550–1295 BC). Located about 3 km south of Karnak, once connected by a sphinx-lined processional way.
End of Tour:
Return to your hotel in Luxor, or optionally, end at Luxor Airport.
